Hello all; I'm new to all this. I just downloaded and installed ubuntu 8.10 onto my desktop, and got a small blank square in the middle of the screen. I tried to change the res and got a black screen saying the res I choose would not work. Now I can't get rid of that screen, I tried rebooting and it just comes back to that black screen. How do I get back to the home page and fix the res?
