X button (Close) disappeared from window tab

strangely, unless i did something in my panel or widget settings.
the X close window button on my tabs is gone. how do i get it back?
using Gnome desktop easy peasy.

my graphics card doesnt do well with normal effects.
still that didn't bring back the close X button on the tabs.

i had the same problem, i downloaded the compiz fusion icon in the software center, started it up.. then i right clicked on it(in the panel) and pressed restart window manager. The buttons came back...

Thanks rhymiz! Sometimes when I boot into ubuntu these buttons are missing! But your fix worked perfectly!
