View Full Version : Writing for Free Software Magazine

January 4th, 2006, 05:01 AM

My name is Tony Mobily. I am the Editor In Chief of Free Software Magazine (http://www.freesoftwaremagazine.com.
First of all, I'd like to apologise _sincerely_ for intruding this forum with something probably slightly unrelated.

Free Software Magazine is the leading magazine about free software.
The articles published in Free Software Magazine are viewed by thousands of people each day. All of the contents are released under a free license chosen by their authors.

At the moment, I am urgently looking for articles on (K)Ubuntu. I am after articles which are REALLY easy to understand. Something your mother would get (well, unless she works as a software engineer for IBM... :-) ). The article should avoid the command line whenever humanly possible, and focus on the way a common user would... *use* Ubuntu.

All of the articles published in FSM are professionally edited. We even pay for articles... in books! When the editing phase of your article is over, you can choose a book worth up to $100 (published by Apress, Addison-Wesley, NoStarch or O'Really, which are our kindsponsors).

I am absolutely happy if the articles, once they are published, end up in the Ubuntu Wiki (where they can maybe start a new life). Basically, Free Software Magazine would work as a "contents incubator" for the Ubuntu community.

If you have any proposals... please let me know! My email address is merc [%AT$] mobily dot com (I wonder if spambots are gonna get it). Have a look at the "writing an article" section of our web site: http://www.freesoftwaremagazine.com/write_for_us/

Well, thank you so much for reading this far :-)

Well... that's it!
