I've been through this and many other forums and have found plenty of tutorials that don't quite supply ME with enough information. The reason may be that i'm too new to linux/ubuntu to be trying to do this. But if someone could help me by giving a "retard's" guide on how to patch the drivers to my wireless card and get aircrack installed and running.I've been trying this for about 2 weeks now and havent got very far, so please DONT spare the details i need and would greatly appreciate any info you have.
Card: WPC54GS v2
Distro: just installed Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope
*Edit-sorry, my card is a GS v2

I don't know about air crack. But your wireless card uses the Broadcom b43 driver. See this 1st post of this thread to get it to work:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=186538
Note that the stuff about ndiswrapper is unnecesary. Just enable the b43 driver and install the b43 firmware to /lib/firmware as the thread describes.
And welcome to the Ubuntu forums!

I have just created a script that makes life so much easier (for aircrack-ng). You can download below or go to:

Is the new beta aircrack-ng 1.0 rc3? And how did you install it? But as far as I know, yes, as long as they dident change and way to type the code. But please tell me how to install the new beta, ive been wanting to try it out.
