Ahaha! Now that one is funny!

I never understand why Windows is used for this sort of purpose. It's a desktop operating system, surely Linux would be better suited...or pretty much anything other than Windows

Also, it's a cashpoint, so Windows is not only unsuitable but horrendously insecure for this kind of use. If there was a way of telling, I'd stay well clear of these cashpoints. I saw a NatWest bank one with a Windows error on it as well, so it must be quite common. Stupid if you ask me.

Well, they do have a version of Windows that is specifically for embedded devices.

What I'm interested in knowing is why is the dialog box in English, when the ATM seems to be in a Slavic-language-speaking country (my guess: Russia?)?

EDIT: And for the person who said that my shop was unprofessional, it's true, I made it in about, erm 5 min or less, somewhere around there, I had the idea stuck in my head and needed to get it out. That and something to keep my mind off my grades A B- C+ C+

Ah ok that's not so bad then. Still a waste of money paying for those licencing fees if you ask me!

By the way, I think inobe really saved this thread from the inevitable direction it was going in!

Seriously? It was a real life version of the ATM hoax. The better question would be what did the ATM pic Have to do with this thread.

We were discussing how the Windows error on the ATM is photoshopped. If it were not, it would genuinely be funny. Swoll posted a picture that was both real and genuinely funny.

Hard on whom? I'm not offended, they already knew it was a joke, I really couldn't care less about the opinions of people on this. To me, it's a piece of crap in a picture frame.

Oh! And for those that think the windows logo part was badly edited, I meant for it to look like this, I could have easily edited that better, but I felt like this would symbolize it better.

I liked it.
As for the ATM, "stuff" happens. I have seen one getting stuck and continuously rebooting: if memory serves correctly it was trying to run OS/2. (It has since been removed from the bank that had it - no pictures or video, sorry.)

I've seen a display screen at an airport attempt and fail to load up Windows. It was pretty funny. I also don't have pictures of that. :(

I love the black lady they chose for that video. I turned my favorite scene (which includes her) into an animated gif:

It's funny for how it successfully incorporates all the things that annoy some tightly strung people.

A deftly placed '$' here, an appropriate corruption of the word 'windows' there. I give an A+...lol

The Windows Matrix parody was actually funny and original. Some parts made me laugh like:
"To send an error message or not to send one. But is there a difference?"
AND
"The progress bar is moving, but the remaining time seems to be going up!"
xD

The picture that started this topic however was just dumb and bland in my opinion. Every time I see "Micro$oft" or "Winblows" I want to strangle myself; it isn't funny anymore, in fact, it never was.

Well spotted. I always thought of it as "oo-boon-two way", perhaps because that's similar to what my acquaintances who speak Plynesian languages might say.
