I have an hp tx2000z laptop. It ran warm under Vista, warmer when I switched to ubuntu but lately it just feels scalding to the touch when on my lap. I added a thermometer to my conky ({acpitempf}) and it is consistently hovering around 150F (65C). I am going to pop open my case later and see if the fan is clogged- assuming it's not what can I do to check if there's a problem with my fan firmware?
