E: Couldn't find package linux-kernel-devel

Hi all,
I'm trying to install VMware/Vmplayer on my machine but when I do sudo apt-get install linux-kernel-devel I get the error in the title. One post said that you dont need linux-kernel-devel for VMplayer. Do I have to compile my own kernel? Anyone have this problem?

Does that program say that it requires linux-kernel-devel ???? And how do you install VMware???? compile from source or install from deb???
An option is install and use apt-file to look for the packages that may contain linux-kernel-devel :)
