I'm hoping someone out there has used the alternate installation CD for RAID 5 & can give me some advice.
I have an older XP PC that already has RAID 5. I have downloaded & burned my CD & ready to go. Now I hesitate because this is different than my other Ubuntu installs (amd64 & standard i386) & don't know what to expect with the alternate installation CD.
I just want to get it right, so please bare with me.
I want to install Ubuntu 9.04 beta over XP; no dual boot. And, BIOS is setup for RAID 5 now. The old c: will be 100% Ubuntu (SWAP & ext4) & small partitions for RAID needs on the other 2 HDs (old f: & g: ) but leaving the rest of the HDs NTFS. Do I just find RAID 5 in the setup menu & that's it? It will recommend partition areas on all 3 HDs?

I did read this;
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/FakeRaidHowto
Which assumes a dual boot & sharing partitions with Windows. I don't want a dual boot.
And, this too.

Thanks
