I baught an usb-infraredport: Digitus INFRARED TO USB 1.1 ADAPTER.

I connected this to my computer but it is not good recognized.
My question is: Where can I find suitable driversoftware and how do I have to install it?
I asked the "Hardware Information" after I connected it. There I found the following:
Comumn Devices: VT82xxxxx UHCI USB 1.1 Controller --> Unknown (0x7780) --> USB Interface --> Networking Interface
tabpage Advanced:
info.capabilities: "net", "net.irda"
info.category: net.irda
net.interface: irda0
linux.sysfs_path: /sys/class/net/irda0

Is this indicating infrared?

What can I do so my infraredport is recognized well in a program like Wammu?

Thanks by advance.

Joris
