Recently I've fallen in love with the Elegant Brit theme...sometimes there's just beauty in simplicity :D

I love Elegant Brit theme too..

I usually make up my own keeping it still very recognizably Gnome. I found some 3D images of different colors for the panels (http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Gnome+Panel+Images?content=57262). Whatever color I'm using for the panels, I just use the color picker and select a part of the panel so they match.

I've used other pre-made themes from Gnome-look but most are just a little too intense for my taste - either too dark or just too funky. It's fantastic that we have so many options though. This is my April desktop (http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=6991120&postcount=10). Simple and sort of Macish but I like it for now. I'll probably have another by May. Last month I had a green one and now think "what was I thinking?" So, I really don't have a single favorite.

i like light themes. in addition to not everything working out as well with dark themes, i just find them a lot easier to look at.

My favorite is Dust also, though the Aurora engine is very nice. It would be awesome if someone did an Ubuntu colored version of Fedora's gnome theme.

I like the new wave theme in 9.04 beta with the default wallpaper. Finally orange and brown that look good on Ubuntu, also the other themes you mentioned are pretty cool as well.

I like it, but the panel.rc file refers to images that don't exist, so using it continuously spams my .xsession-errors file...
