Installing on external media from inside ubuntu

After using remastersys to create a backup of my system, I now want to install it onto my external hard drive (connected via usb). I was wondering if there was a way to do this from inside ubuntu (ie. whilst ubuntu is running from my internal hard drive) using the .iso that I have.
