The recent 2.6.27 kernel upgrade causes my bootsplash to appear at the wrong resolution and tear down the middle.

I'm running this on an HP tx2000z cto, with ubuntu 64 bit. Help appreciated.

Hi sha.goyjo,

It wasn't just a kernel header update. It was also an update for a new nVidia proprietary driver, version 180. Have you gone to System>Administration>Hardware Drivers and checked it out. See if you have it too? Is 180 now activated or is it still 177?

You might find that something has actually corrupted your bootsplash image file during the reboot process following the kernel patch update, I experienced this yesterday after updating my 8.04.2 system by installing the latest kernel patch update.
