Hi,

My screen just isn't big enough for what I need to do, so I'd like to save some height by moving both my gnome panels to the left hand side.
However, when I do this it keeps the text in the tabs horizontal, so the names are not visible on the vertical panel. I can't find how to rotate the text.

Can anyone help- either with rotating the text, or suggesting alternative ways of moving between apps while maximising usable screen space?

Using gnome/intrepid on a dell latitude.

Thanks!

Don't understand. Most of the time, it's more screen width that's needed, not height. If need more screen height, put the panel on top or bottom & use the auto hide feature for the panel, then it only appears when you need it.

Thanks tturrisi, that's good enough for now but I'd still like to know how to rotate the text in the tabs if anyone else knows- prefer not to use autohide.
