i need to replace the HD in my laptop, a few times its not booted up properly on startup just makes some noise but doesn't kick in. this only happens occasionally and most of the time it boots fine.

i have taken this to be a sign that it would be a good idea to upgrade now before it completely dies.

i downloaded this maintenance and service guide http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01035677.pdf

but still can't work out what type of drive i need, for info i have the 120gig drive installed at the moment. on the service guide it says the interface is ATA-5, so would this mean i need a SATA drive?

ideally i'd like to get a good sized 7200rpm drive for the speed increase. there wouldn't be any problem with doing this would there?

i was thinking of buying something like this
