Ubuntu Is a great Linux os but the developers need to build it ready to go ie: multimedia ready for the Internet . I have been using Ubuntu since warty warthog and i am now using 8.04 LT and through all those upgrades I had to search for the multimedia software to view web content . I think Linux would have a better chance at mainstream use if it came ready to go.

Oh if only it were that simple. There are legal and licensing issues that come into play and muddy up the situation.

Thanks , and I unerstand the licensing dilema but there are many aps that are available that work well enough that are not included in the install. When I view a web page I want to see all the content , not have to search for a plug-in and try to install it . .DEB has been a big help in installing software . The days of command line are numbered for the average user , leave that to the IT guys and developers.
