Ok...

Let me preface this by saying that on this go round, I have not yet hosed my Ubuntu install. BUT, the last time I tried this I did.

I installed Jaunty yesterday. Seeing as this is not yet fully ready for prime time, I was going to mess around with a Vanilla Debian install on a separate partition.

Last time I tried this, Debian took over my grub, and I lost the ability to boot into Ubuntu.

Are here any steps up front that I can take to ensure than when I install a Debian partition that my Jaunty install does not get hosed?

Any help is appreciated.

What was happening? Was the computer just automatically booting into Debian?

Computer booted to GRUB, but no Ubuntu was visible. Only the Debian Partition.

I could see it was still there when I looked at the drive, just no flags ro such.
