I just upgraded to Ubuntu 8.1 and now I can't load any programs actually I can't use any programs that use an .exe file to open or load. I get a can't load error with this message

[/home/robert/Desktop/BejeweledTwistSetup_2_1.exe]
End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not
a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the
latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on
the last disk(s) of this archive.
zipinfo: cannot find zipfile directory in one of /home/robert/Desktop/BejeweledTwistSetup_2_1.exe or
/home/robert/Desktop/BejeweledTwistSetup_2_1.exe.zip, and cannot find /home/robert/Desktop/BejeweledTwistSetup_2_1.exe.ZIP, period.

Or for trying to load a program from a disc I get

Error autorunning software
Cannot find the autorun program

Ubunutu doesn't normally run .exe files (they're usually designed for Windows and/or MS-DOS). If they're regular applications, you might have to use Wine or similar to get them to work. Another option is is to look for an Ubuntu-friendly equivalent.

See here (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wine) for more information on Wine.
