Hey guys, downloaded Ubuntu 8.10 and burned it to a cd, put it in my Hp Comapaq nc6000, the Ubuntu menu comes up and i preformed a memory test. worked fine. I clicked Install Ubuntu and got "This kernel requires an x86-64 CPU, but only detected an i686 CPU. Unable to boot-please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU." Just trying to get this to work. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.:p

Check that you downloaded the correct iso (ubuntu-8.10-desktop-i368.iso)

Yeah i downloaded that one, and used ISO Recorder to burn it. What am i doing wrong? Downloaded it to a 32-bit vista comp. then burned the CD and put it in the Compaq and booted it. man i feel like a noob.
