Computer locks up when I try to use the S3 sleep mode in 8.10. I've heard that this is an issue with 8.10, has anybody sucessfully got S3 sleep to work? If so what was required to get it running?

I've had this same issue with the last couple releases. I'd be interested to know if anyone has been able to get it to work.

I can't get S3 to work in 9.04 either.

Enabling the +5vsb on USB allowed the computer to sleep w/o instantly rebooting, but now when it tries to wake up it goes to a blank screen.

Gave hibernate a try, it shuts down properly and goes to the ubuntu screen where it says "waking up". Once it goes past the "wakeup" screen, it goes to 720x400 and nothing works, just a blank screen.
