Hi.
I have followed this tutorial: http://psubuntu.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=758
I went through every step, installed kernel 2.6.29, and when i try to boot up with
the new kernel, right at the point when X is about to start, screen goes blank and nothing happens, it just hangs..
When i restarted, i booted old kernel and it was all good.

Reason for this upgrade is that i don't have sound on my old kernel.
Can anyone help?
If there is no solution, please tell me how to delete this new kernel because it has eaten 1Gb of space, and replace new in petiboot so that my old kernel is default, new kernel to boot.

Sounds to me like your new (hand built) kernel is having a little conflict with your graphic card driver. What kind of graphic card do you have and have you installed a driver for it?

I'm using XUbuntu 8.10 on my PS3.
Installed kernel from git repository.
