Alright, since my resolution problems seems to be with compatibility issues, I'm wondering if I reverted to an older version of Ubuntu, and if it worked, would it be possible to take the information out of that xorg.conf file and then revert back to 8.10 and copy that information into the xorg.conf file on the 8.10?

don't know there might be new information in xorg file but it should be fine

did you upgrade or reinstall to 8.10 try the beta and sees if those problems are fixed

i thought your stuff should be working after an update but then i am guessing the xorg. file does't change those lines
