Should show up in the updates. Go to update manager and check it out. Also need to remove the old kernel choice from your grub file.

If you have updates enabled then you should have the latest. Go to System/Administration/Software Sources/Updates and check "Release Updates" whether it is set for "Normal" updates. Could be set for "Never".

Is there a kernel later that 2.6.24-23 available for Hardy, and if so, how do I update?

Does anyone know if it is possible to upgrade 8.04 to the kernel used in 9.04 through the repositories?
