Why 1 big display

Why does ubuntu or linux in general detect my multiple monitors as 1 giant display?


Is running seperate X Screens the only way to fix this and have it see individual screens or is there another way.. I have looked all around and can find no help on this matter

Your doing better than I am.

I have a 3 display machine (2x17"lcds and a 19"crt in the middle) which is working fine in widows. We do a lot of graphic artwork so the extra screens are a god-send.

I can't get more than one display working under 8.10 so if you have any pointers on that I'm all ears.

well what kind of video cards are u using?... i just found out how to get all 3 working at the same time.. so i may be able to help u.
