Hello,

I am currently trying to install Ubuntu 8.10 64 bit version but i am failing miserably. When it loads the disc and asks me to install Ubuntu or try it. It ends up loading the Command Prompt of Linux [i think it's called shell]. In which i get no Gui quick install. Any help would be greatly Appreciated

My Computer:
Processer: AMD 9500 Quad Core
Graphics Card: ATI 4850 512mb
Motherboard: M3A78-EMH HDMI
Intergrated Graphics Card: 3200HD
Sound Card: Creative Titanium Sound Blaster
Hard Drive: Standard 80 gig 7200 rpm sata connected HD
Ram: 4 Gigs of 1066

Like i mentioned above any help in fixing this problem would be great.

Make sure you have the right ISO. There is a different ISO for desktop Ubuntu and one for Server Ubuntu. It sounds like you have the server ISO that you installed on your computer.

I double checked it's a 64 bit 8.10 Desktop Edition ISO
