Fastest GTK engine?

I've noticed that some GTK themes are much faster than others with 2D rendering ... I previously thought it was my ATI drivers, but it seems the themes based on murrine or clearlooks are much faster than aurora, pixmap and some new murrine-based themes.

The fastest combination I have ever used is Shiki-Colors + Murrine. It's really fast in my computer. I used nVidia 8400M GT on my Vaio.

Edit: On an interesting sidenote: icon themes can make a huge difference as well

The one that Mist uses is supposed to be quick. There was a comparison somewhere which said that Aurora (I think) is one of the slowest and least maintained.

It was a while ago though so I could be wrong.
