Application lunchers in the widget layer

hello everybody

i wanted to know if it's nearly possible to have my application luncher in the widget layer instead of the widgets...
personally i really don't care about my cpu/ram usage etc...
but having all my application icons just by typing F9...just wonderfull!
in the same way, having my msn/facebook(by pidgin) conversations in the widget layer too, it would be incredible!

If anybody knows someting...please share ;-)

there is a screenlet called appmenu that i have sitting in my widget layer, its basically just a launcher that comes and goes with f9. i think its standard with the screenlets package

dont know about putting your im conversations there tho
