Come hang out, grab some food and (if old enough) grab a beer or two. Help us celebrate the release of Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope.

We need some responses here from our local people to indicate that they will be going. I know i will be! I'll make sure to inform my father (organizer of meetings in butler) and my brother (semi-fan) and one of my good geek friends. :KS

I wish I was still out in Pittsburgh. When I go back to visit, my friends always take me to Fox and Hound. I am going to see if there is a release party in Delaware. I know they have one in Philadelphia, but I'm not sure where it will be held at.

I would love to attend, but can't drive my car down there, for it is falling apart. Grr, such is life.

I am going, although I missed last year. My party will be of three. You will know me since I look like a metalhead. :guitar:

I have to say that i was hoping for more local people to attend the party :(. I did notice that it has a plug on the WPLUG wiki website. Hopefully we get some linux guys and gals out there. I know they exist but probably just never saw that this event is even available.

Keep in mind that not everyone who is coming is active on the forums :) I know of at least one confirmed person who is coming and hasn't posted to this thread, I'm sure there are others.

As it turns out, I WILL be able to attend. Work officially cancelled my trip. I know of about 5 people (myself included) who plan to attend.

Yea thats true. I also noticed that they posted this to the local LUG's calendar. Maybe that will grow it a bit. A few years ago i couldn't imaging being so excited about the release of an operating system.

Good to hear that you will be there. People still use ICQ?

Good question dark_harmonics (lol)? I just created an account with ICQ just for ubuntu forums. I didn't feel like listing the other clients I use.

The party seemed to go well. I was surprised at the turnout. One guy ^ even got a prize. ;)

Yes, and I was that guy who got the prize. I would like to thank Beth for the nice new piece of flair (that was very awesome of you). I would like to say thanks to TimBosse for setting up the arrangements. I had a great time talking with all of you. I saw some familiar faces and I saw some newer faces. We had some individuals from WPLUG (Western Pennsylvania Linux Users Group) who joined the party party as well. Now I know their wasn't a set list of things to do at the party but more open discussion. I just like the idea of individuals getting together who share the same interest in ubuntu or Linux in general and having fun while doing so. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and I hope to see everyone at future ubuntu release parties.

Did anyone get pictures? If so, you can send them over to me (lyz@ubuntu.com) with a name you wish them to be credited with and I'll put them up in the Ubuntu Pennsylvania Gallery (http://gallery.ubuntupennsylvania.org) :)

Wish I could have gone to this! I've been out of Pittsburgh for awhile, but will be back in town again come fall.
