Hi I just installed easy peasey on my EEE-PC and it seems great - but I have had a couple of weird events....

1. Each time I boot up the EEE it asks me (after the ubuntu login) to "Enter your password to perform administrative tasks" - any idea why I am asked this each time?

2. The first two or three times after having the laptop on for a few minutes it decided to go through the entire process of installing the OS again - i.e. enter my name etc....I just cancelled this and re-booted.

Do you think point 1 + 2 are connected?

All opinions and advice greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you're using easy peasy, you should post your question on the easy peasy forums:

http://forums.geteasypeasy.com/

This page tells you how to fix the most common problems with a new easy peasy install:
http://forums.geteasypeasy.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=543

The problem you're having is listed as the first issue on the above page. Just follow the instructions and you will make your easy peasy install pristine :-)

Use synaptic to remove ubiquity.
And search first!

OK....

My understanding was to do the following, (I got this from another post I found on the net) -

"You need one tiny package for this to be supported. Using your favorite package manager install libpam-keyring, or use the following command:

sudo aptitude install libpam-keyring........"

Is the keyring and ubquity the same thing?

Again the comment I get on each boot is:

"Enter your password to perform administrative tasks"

Thanks as usual for all help - VERY appreciated!

PS I am installing easy peasey on EEE-PC and if anyone is interested it seems really good and will be once I have overcome these teething problems
