I created a new user in Ubuntu 8.04 to run the KDE desktop. It works but I cannot load programs from add/remove even with my sudo password. Is it possible to put the new user in the same groups as my old user?

Solved.I went to user groups and changed kane's permissions. Thanks Sam.

The Users and Groups settings in the System menu should let you see what groups the users are part of.

In the groups root is 0.patrick is 1000and the new user (kane) is 1001. If I change kane to 1000 will this allow me to add/remove programs? If not how can I give permission to kane to access what is already been loaded by patrick or add/remove programs?

Solved.I went to user groups and anlocked it and changed the settings for kane. Thanks Sam Lars
