how/is it possible to change desktop environments

just got ubuntu 8.10 up and running but i discovered i lone the new kubuntu desktop environment and interface. is there a way i can switchover if possible please give me the details

in your menu open "synaptic" install "kubuntu-desktop" logout and select "kde" log back in.

Installing the kubuntu-desktop will install Kubuntu.
If you just want the KDE environment, without all the extra settings and applications, install the package kde-core.
