Hi All,

First off, I've seen a million and one posts about "broken graphics", etc, but none I've seen so far address this specific issue. I'm having a bit of an issue with GNOME. Basically whenever I install the "unsupported (recommended)" intel drivers so as to enable visual effects, it begins to distort my windows -- meaning, for instance, when a window gets focus, sometimes its toolbar is distorted or invisible. There are other manifestations of weirdness, but that is a quick example.

Over the last few months, I've tried this on 4 different computers, all using various Nvidia on-board or PCI-E video cards. It's a consistent issue among all installs. I've tried using the "recommended" driver via Package Manager as well as downloading the graphics driver from Nvidia directly. The *all* result in the same thing. Is this simply a bug with Compiz or is there more to it?

Thanks in advance!

Probably a driver bug, as it's not widely known.

Maybe your card is quite aged?
