i had ubuntu 8.10 running in gnome just installed kde and found out to my dismay that it wasnt recognising any networks for internet

i know there is kwlan but its asking me to remove network manager to be able to install it. so i was wondering how to get the wireless working through kde

PS: god bless the souls who worked in the design of KDE 4. smfing..too too cool looks..makes vista perspires but still gnome compix effects are more smoother still any idea to make kde as good???

I had the same problem. Everything worked fine and after I installed KDE from launchpad repo the wireless card first worked for a few minutes and then stopped recognizing any connection. I restarted the wireless card (using the corresponding key in my laptop) and now it works. Hope this helps.

hey mates....run nm-applet from terminal when you are in KDE it works and just have to get the applet on the toolbar...
ONe major bug about KDE is that it cant figure out how to mount things up..like my DVD/cd drive...
