I won another Dell Mini 9 today*: it's the bare model (specs in the image). I'm running out of desk space.

* My team and I won this (http://contest.acm.bw.edu/contest/). First place prize was a Dell Mini 9 for each team member.

Very rarely does an idea make my jaw drop. Blurring inactive icons is one of those rare ideas. Is that an engine-specific feature?

The plasma theme is Cream with Aya task items. The icons are Oxygen Refit 2 Black (http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php/Oxygen+Refit+Black?content=89298) with different folder icons. Custom Icons,
* uses Erectus as a base: http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Erectus?content=100254 (which in turn is based on Elementary icons)
* Stop/Refresh icons hacked form the Strata Human firefox theme and modified to be more Tango (give border to roof of home)
* Many of the 512x512 Mac Icons are taken from the iLeopard Icons Pack SE http://rs110.rapidshare.com/files/85866864/iLeopard_Icon_Pack_SE.zip
* The blue folder icon from Aquave project (only visible at bottom of first image, but that is my main folder icon) http://lbaumann.com/aquave/
* Most other icons were found on Deviant Art. I have bookmark some of them on my Favourites Page http://bobcfc.deviantart.com/favourites/

GTK is hacked version of Human Reprise http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Human-Reprise?content=98045 with custom scrollbars from another them which I can't remember

Emerald is hacked version of Bayou 2 White with the titlebar text set to the right, changed to Myriad Pro Semicondensed (sorry cant' find a link)

Or Metacity theme if not in the mood for emerald is currently Mui Whitebar Mod http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Miu+Whitebar+Mod?content=101023 (The screenshot at G-L doesn't show the grey metacity that is in the download DOH!)

Firefox font is Deja Vu Condensed Size 14 (goto about:config and add condensed to the end of the font name, firefox can't handle subtypes of font properly)

Firefox theme is hacked icons from Strata Human into classic.jar in the chrome folder of Minefield so that I get the icons but keep the gtk tabs etc. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/8105

The grey stripes are from the gallery in the new mozilla plugin Personas http://www.getpersonas.com/

KDE 4 has its own notification system called extenders. They get themed by the plasma theme. The cool thing is, for things like copy jobs, you can grab one and detach it from the system tray and drop it on your desktop, and it becomes a regular plasmoid like any other widget. They look like this:

Not much too see here, it's simple, but has all I need, I like to have as much free space as possible on my screen.

Both panels (above and below) have autohide on.
The Emerald theme is a custom one based on "Tinted Glass v0.3"
The background is from Windows 7 Beta.
I'm using 4 desktops (2x2).
The icons are from the Human-Clearlooks theme.

Oh wow. I didn't know there were actually people out there enjoying the Alkaline theme. I mainly made it as a novelty theme and not as a serious project like Macchiato. It looks great! And the Openbox theme that matches it looks great, too!

:D I sent you the themerc if you want to include it in your GTK package.

I've returned to using Pidgin and I'm loving it.
I've given my gtkrc some love (the only remaining bug I'm aware of is some spinbutton weirdness).
I've changed my GIMP layout to be a bit more efficient.
I've got my uniform window-sizes going on, which is making single-workspace multitasking considerably easier.

Heres is my desktop for this month.

Kubuntu Jaunty Jackalope

I'm looking for a good weather plasmoid with the possibility to put a zip code that is not from UK and that can be integrated in a panel...

This desktop kicks butt, but kubuntu bugs the heck out of me.

Wallpaper: Ubuntu Waves

Laptop:

I installed wbar, but is there a guide that you followed to get it working?
Either that, or how do I find it once I installed it?

I wrote a startup script to launch it (see below). Just copy/paste in gedit, then save the file as ~/.wbar.sh and auto lanuch it by going under system>preferences>sessions>add. Under command browse to the script and you're done. Just log out and back in and wbar should be there. Here's the script:

#!/bin/sh

(sleep 7s && wbar -bpress -above-desk -pos bottom -isize 50.0 -idist 12.0 -nanim 3.0 -zoomf 1.8 -jumpf 1.0 -balfa 85.0 -falfa 100.0) &

Let me know if that gets you fixed up.

I forgot to add that if you want to use custom icons/commands/backgrounds that you need to create a custom .wbar file in your home directory. Just copy/paste the one under /usr/share/wbar/ to your ~ directory to use as a template. Just don't forget to rename from dot.wbar to .wbar.

Get wbarconf. Run it, select File>settings (I think, sorry I don't use wbar often). Personally I would just use Gnome-do Docky unless you don't want compositing.

First one is my work horse (and the one I spend more time with ;) ): Debian Lenny running Openbox.

The second one is for fun and games: Jaunty beta with the New Wave theme and a background from Interfacelift (http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper_beta/details/700/yellow_lilly.html). An amazing theme -- I really like the red mouse-overs and tool tips :P

How to Post a Screenshot (http://crunchbanglinux.org/forums/topic/2008/how-to-post-pictures-on-this-forum-or-any-forum/)

I highly recommend Omploader since it has no ads/pop-ups/nag-crap.

Hopefully this post from another forum isn't against any rules, since CrunchBang is a derivative of Ubuntu and this is simply a how-to. If a mod feels this should be added to Ubuntu's how-tos, you have my permission to copy it (I wrote it).

I wanted a way to combined everything into one line. The problem with a lot of conky setups is they're always behind something, so while it looks nice with all of your windows minimized, open up a browser, media player, chat program, and a file manager and everything's gone.

Note: this uses a GMail script, Arch update script, and weather script.
