Quick question. Under "Hardware Drivers" I see the option to install nVidia Version 180 drivers. I know they came out with a new version of the driver today 180.44. I was wondering if the Hardware Drivers application was up to date or if it is using an older version of the 180 drivers. Thanks. =D

It's probably 180.29

Just d/l the official one yourself and install it

I tried this but upon stopping x server using ctrl-alt-f1 and reaching the terminal the system blanks out within 1 minute. I'm somewhat new to Ubuntu/Kubuntu but I can use terminal somewhat.

Does anyone else know for sure which version these drivers are or how to install the 180.44 drivers? I'm having difficulties with that.

search adept for nvidia, click the driver version closest, it should say exactly what it is..

don't install from there, you just want the description.

btw' i am running kubuntu intrepid x64 bit and have not received and update.

Thanks for the idea. Unfortunately 180.37 is the latest available there. Would anyone happen to know an approximate time period for how long it takes to be released onto the package managers?

Sorry if I'm asking a lot of questions but the 180.37 drivers cause my screen to go black within a few minutes and I'm hoping 180.44 will help, though I'm doubtful.
