Hi, i have a little problem with CSS. I have (for me) very low fps, about 30-50. My computer has more powerfull configuration.
Processor: Intel Core Centrino Duo 1,5 GHz
RAM: 2 GB
Graphics: Nvidia 8400M G (256 VRAM)

I run Ubuntu 8.10. Can anyone say me, why i have these lags and why i have low fps, while both of my processors are loaded only on 50% and RAM on 25%?

CSS settings: dxlevel 70 (have tried 80, 81, 90), screen 800x600 (1024x76, low details... i get always the same fps.

ubuntu: latest nvidia drivers 180 (before => 177), latest wine...

um...30-50 fps is pretty high, the eye can only see about 30 fps. So why are you saying it lags?

Because in firefights it jsut lags. It's only miliseconds but, if you know this game, you also know, that it's very important for playing to have the game fluent.

P.S.: Sorry for my English. :-)

make sure you have atleast Wine 1.1.17, I know this "lag" but it can be avoided by panning around the level as specatator before playing, I think it does some precaching which cause small one time delays.

dual cores are not supported in the game so its only running 1.5 ghz which sucks because source relies a lot on cpu power and not just gfx power.
