Hey all,

I know this gets discussed to death, but I can't seem to find the best way to do this in my searches. I apologize if this is repetitive.

My printer requires a later version of HPLIP than is available in the intrepid repositories. As I understand there are a few ways I can try to solve this of differing difficulty and appropriateness:

- Download the HPLIP installer and install outside of the package manager

- Add some alternative repository to Ubuntu to try to download a newer version of HPLIP within the package management system

- Find a newer .DEB file of HPLIP and install it manually without changing repositories, but still using the package manager

- Upgrading to the Jaunty beta :p

Suggestions? Which is the best way of doing this?

Thanks,
Matt

In jaunty my old hp 840c doesn't work. In intrepid it worked well! That's bad! :(
