I got my hands on a Microsoft LifeCam VX3000 and plugged it in to my machine running Ubuntu 8.10.
The system did not recognise the camera at all. I searched for available drivers but as I am fairly new to Linux I don't really know what to do with the driver once it's downloaded.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Is there even a driver for this particula camera?

Using camorama just gives me a message saying "can't connect to /dev/video)"
lsusb knew that the (correct) camera was there!

Cheers Ollie
