Good Applications

Please tell us your favorite application(s), where to get them, what they do, and what form of Ubuntu it runs on. (Sorry is this is a recurring topic, I couldn't find a thread similar to this)

So far my favorite is Compiz Config which can be found in the package manager on Ubuntu. It adds many cool (although unnecessary) effects to everyday functions of Ubuntu.

I love Amarok for listening to and maintaining my music collection. If you're running Ubuntu, you can install it through Synaptic or via the terminal by typing:

sudo apt-get install amarok

If you're running Kubuntu, it should be installed by default.
