I have a Linksys WUSB11 (version 3) Wireless-B USB network adaptor. Initially, when I tried plugging it in, it wouldn't show any networks - just "Requesting a network address from the wired network," which it gets stuck on... After restarting, it seemed to work fine, connecting instantaneously, but after a while, the connection to the network would drop (even though the signal was strong; I was right near the router). Upon trying to reconnect, it would seem to connect OK, the two little green balls of NetworkManager illuminating OK, but then it gets stuck on "Requesting a network address." Even if I restart, I get the same problem... though after an extended period of time, it'll work OK for a while again. If I didn't know better, I'd use the word "overheat"...? What's going on?

Which window manager I'm using couldn't make a difference... could it?

This is a common issue with wireless USB devices and them overheating. I've used one before and have had the same problem. (This is why I dont use them anymore)
