Can not stop update manager

When I start my system there is info icon'updates avaliable'. I uncheck updates because I don't need ( udates for video card I dont have ) them but system keep offering them again when I restart system. How to stop him!?

Go to the synaptic and find packages you don´ want to upgrade mark it and in package tab select lock version.
