Hi everyone, I'm new here, and I basically just joined like 5 min ago. :guitar:

Alright, I am very excited on downloading Ubuntu but I just have a quick newbie question I really could not find my answer for. I want to use Ubuntu on a disc, and just pop it in, do my work on Ubuntu, and go back to my original computer OS (Mac OS X Leopard).

What size capacity of a blank CD-R data disc would I need to hold Ubuntu on it?
Thanks. :)

Best way would be to use a USB drive and make it persistent so that you can write data to it. You can find out how to do that here (http://www.pendrivelinux.com) or go to System-Administration-Create a USB startup disk when you run from CD.

Awesome, and this definitely will work with Ubuntu? Is the installation different at all because I am putting it in a USB drive? Thanks.

This will work with Ubuntu as there are tutorials on Pendrive linux's website. You could even try the new Jaunty beta software (bugs and all with this method). Boot-up times though will be slow. As long as you can set your computer to boot from USB you'll be OK.
