Fuzzy when maximizing

When I maximize an app from the lower panel that has been sitting for an unspecified period of time it always appears really blurry for a second when reappearing. This does not happen when I minimize it back to the panel nor does it happen unless a few seconds go by while the app is sitting idle in the lower panel. I'm guessing this has to be a compiz setting or something similar but am really not sure. I'm using ibex and gnome and have attached a screen shot of this happening when I maximize Firefox from the lower panel. Has anyone else experienced this that could let me know what exactly is causing this and if there is a way around it. Thanks.
