Efficient Text based email client

Hi, I have been trying to find a good text based email client but most of them gets very slow with the size of my *nix email data file.
The best one I found so far was alpine but it doesn't recognize my email data anymore since it's over 2gigs.

any idea?

I agree. If you're willing to take the time to learn fetchmail and procmail, mutt is an extremely rewarding program to use.
