Dear friends i am a new in ubundu linux i want play in audio & video cd's & DVD's how to install vlc player pls step by step explain. Important i Don't have Internet Connection pls Very Urgent my friends this message type from Internet Browsing Centere

Try using Keryx (http://crashsystems.net/2009/01/keryx-tutorial/) or you can download VLC from here (http://packages.ubuntu.com/intrepid/vlc) but in that case you have to download all packages marked with red ball and install them first.

Here is a fall back for you. Look for "GeeBox" on the Internet. You can download the ISO file for free. Put it on a cd and start you computer with it in the drive. It loads into ram and you take the disk out. You then can put a dvd in the drive and it will play just like a portable dvd player. Your OS is never started or touched.
