View Full Version : [ubuntu] Water effect when moving windows

well, the title pretty much says it all. I've seen a video on youtube recently (i can't find it anymore however so no links :( ), and in that video when whoever it was who made it moved windows, they made the water rippling effect, i don't remember exactly if it was WHILE they were moving or just when they stopped, either way i'd like to know how you can do that...

It should be under Compiz settings, water effects. Or something like that...

If you have compiz settings manager installed, you can select it there and take note of the key bindings to run it. It says Initiate and the default is Ctrl + Super. Shift + F9 gives a really cool rain effect. Have fun :)

The ripple effect for moving windows, sadly, is not part of the official Compiz packages. There exist patches that enable it if you compile Compiz from the source, but there's no way that I know of to enable it without compiling it yourself. :(
