How To Install Nvidia 8600GT Driver?

I'm new on Ubuntu and need some help to install Nvidia Driver!(I'm an offline user)

1º It asks me to Exit X Server! How to do that?
2º What's next?

Current official release: 180.29 (x86 / x86_64)
Current prerelease: 180.41
Current beta release: 185.13
download the driver you want and the associated README file.
x86 is 32 bit and x86_64 is 64 bit
follow the instructions in the README file.
