I've asked this twice before and gotten no answer that was interpretable by a non-programmer. My problem: I am attempting to set up a dual boot Vista(32, Ultimate)/ Ubuntu system. Each time, Ubuntu tells me it has successfully installed. Upon reboot I get an error in GRUB (#22). I then have to do bootrec stuff to regain a working MBR. I have tried several options during install including manual, largest empty space and install from within Ubuntu CD load.
This is what my hardware looks like:
ASUS P5Q3 Delux MB
Core 2 Quad Q9400
DDR3
GeForce 9600 GT (PCIE2)
Creative X-Fi Titanium sound
Add-on USB2 ports on a PCIE card
HD's are SATA (AHCI)

The only thing I haven't tried is loading 64-bit UBUNTU with a 32-bit Vista. I understand that version works better with Quad cores. Has anybody else run into this problem and found a solution?

Please let me know

Zack

Have a look at this howto, it should help you solve your problem. The
tags are misleading, most of the time they just enclose regular linux commands.
