Coffee bug?

I've seen alot of cups of coffee in my life, and I've come to a realization about the color of coffee:

Coffee is not #C0FFEE. Depending how much milk I put in it, it's somewhere between #5C3531 and #CCA7A4. From the name, I'd expect it would turn out a creamy green color. But it's brown. Is there some bug in the implementation of this drink that causes it to turn out the wrong color?

I think #C0FFEE is defined in the BRG colorspace (with lots of milk)

I bet the W3C will make a standard around that one... XCCD (XML Coffee Colour Definition). And they'll have a good whinge if IE 8 is released without support for it.

IE 8 will break standards compatibility to the point that Coffee will actually come out as Mud, causing despair amongst Coffee drinker the world over.

I had to go and check it in gimp, and i think i solved the mistery: it is negative by definition. At least, closer to reality.

So.

If you ever drink coffee, make sure it is not negative, unless you like weird green stuff.

Apparently, according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spade_(disambiguation), it can also be a racial slur, refering to a black person. It's not one I'd ever heard before, though. Upon further research, it seems that the slur came from the color of the "spades" suit in a deck of cards, and the name of the suit came from it's shape resembling that of the gardening tool. Language can do weird things sometimes.

As far as I can tell, though, the use of the idioms "delivering in spades" and "Calling a spade a spade" predates the use of the term as a racial slur, so I think they're fairly safe to use, although I can see where the second might be used in a racist context.

I had a similar problem.
For me using a different mixer solved it.
Also it should be the colour of mud ..if it was 'ground'.

Well, I dunno about you guys, but to my eyes, C0FFEE, either expressed as RGB or BRG values looks kind of funky for coffee. Take a look:

This is #C0FFEE.
This is #EEC0FF.


Now, on the other hand, and I'm not trying to say these colors are definitive, but they're certainly closer:

This is #412E02. (Without cream.)
This is #B39B61. (With cream.)

Most people down here in TX, who, unlike me are priveleged with neither Canuckistani relatives nor dual citizenship, probably have no idea of *what* Timmies is, let alone where to find one. Timmies needs to establish a shop in Dallas and educate us...
