Can't install Kubuntu for hal.dll, on virtual machine- the same

Hi there

First, thanks for reading this. Problem is: Kubuntu won't install with wubi (startup message: system file hal.dll corrupt) and it doesn't install with Kubuntu ISO image on Microsoft virtual PC. The first thing, at one instance started the installation until the kernel was going to load and then failed, and in Virtual PC happens something similar (picture becomes fuzzy, then everything stops.)


I will be grateful if some1 can give me a hand.

at first,you should make sure your Kubuntu is ok.you can test your .iso before you install.

When I try to do it with wubi on the hard disk (no VM) it is getting to the GRUB4DOS stage and there it stays. It is happening with every download of the ISO file. The problem persist from my previous XP installation and it is not new. Virtual Machine installation says "screen init failed" and nothing happens afterwards.
