Hi,

today I installed Fedora 10 onto a partition on my drive.
I left Ubuntu 7.10 with most of the drive and just used a small part for fedora.

Unfortunately now I cant get into Ubuntu anymore.
I read somewhere on these forums, that I should copy the old distro boot files into the new distros boot/grub files, but when I try to do this, it says "permission denied".

I've tried to edit the boot loader when starting up my pc, by adding things like
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.22-16-generic root=UUID=ba24 etc etc.
and
initrd /boot/initrd.imp-2.6.22-16-generic

buy still no luck.

Its my own stupid fault, but can anyone help, cos I don't want to reinstall ubuntu and lose all my data.

Why am I not root on fedora?

Thanks for any help.
